The History

Corner bars, tattoo parlors, motorcycle exhaust, and the greased up bolt of her M4 provide the elements that tend to drive the passionate work behind Kayla Koeune’s artistic creations.

Koeune grew up in small-town Wisconsin where she found a love for art at a very young age. And like most of Wisconsin youth, she spent much of hers in taverns; only she was busy drawing the bar flies from a fort she’d construct out of stools.

Her passion to create never ceasing, Koeune decided to expand her knowledge and attended the Milwaukee Peck School of the Arts where she earned her BA in Fine Arts with a minor in Art History. She gravitated toward the challenge of the nude human form and capturing the raw emotion of everyday life.

Following college, she did what a lot of kids with degrees in Art did…joined the Wisconsin Army National Guard.  Almost immediately after training, she deployed to Baghdad, Iraq, where she developed new connections and friendships that soon would alter her path completely. She was introduced to the loud, dirty and entertaining world of motorcycles and their riders.  Proud of being a part of history, of defending her flag, and of her military career, SSG Koeune found solace as well as therapy after her return home behind the handlebars of her motorbike.

Her artwork grew, defined itself, became more individualized and then, more motorcycle driven, weaving together her own grittiness, brotherhood and pride.

Koeune founded Inferno Art Studio L.L.C. in 2012 where she works predominantly as a commission artist to exemplify her use of diverse subject matters and mediums. From oil and watercolors, to graphic art and design, textiles, enamels and mural work. Her artwork has made a footprint into the motorcycle industry, with engagements all over the United States; showing work as well as performing live paintings at different motorcycle events. 

Kayla is not one to be limited by a strict definition of canvas, and she finds an addictive passion in exploring new elements and discovering new attitudes in her own work. Defend, Ride and Paint. Koeune’s art speaks for itself.

Flight Cancleled.... Buffering... Buffering

They always say if everything goes right there is no real story to tell. Our experience could have been we got on the plane, Got onto our connecting flight with a ton of leg room that we paid for, and were taken to our hotel in a timely fashion so we could enjoy our 3 day tour of the Golden Triangle. That was not the case...not at all...holy guacamole I wish I could say it was even close. So Charlie and I did check into our flight with ease and we made it to Newark, now it was 45 minutes delayed in flight but not nearly delayed enough to miss our second flight. In fact we had time to enjoy Giant meatballs and Calamari before boarding the long leg of our journey. With ease we boarded and sat in our exit row with triple leg room and space to breath. Well there we sat... and we sat... and then we sat some more. The plane had a mechanical issue and they were trying to fix the system, I believe it was to get the in flight entertainment working. Dirt Roads and Mountain Air

My first experience on the off Road I would like to start off by saying me and dirt roads have never gotten along overly well. Somehow, I always seem to end up with the rubber not where it belongs, but like most things in my life if it causes me fear or anxiety I run straight toward it. So naturally I purchased an Africa Twin, a bike made for the off road. What I didn’t purchase though was a set of off road tires, so you get some of the things you need like suspension and breaking power, but not max traction that you would want on a one land road covered in boulders. Now to most adventure riders this road would seem rather basic but for me it was my first test of trust with amazing machine. At first the road was what I remembered it being, which was a gravel road leading to some hiking trails near Eldora, CO. Joey and the Chopper Boys - Jack Schit

"Joey and the Chopper Boys - Page 25" Throughout this children's book there has been many small and important details added to show my appreciation to the people I have met and who have inspired me along this journey.  On page 25, during the culminating event of the book, Joey is presented with the  "PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD"!  Who better to present this award than the Legendary Jack Schit himself.  Jack can be found at motorcycle events all over the country bringing life and animation to any biker event. I am happy to have shared many good times with this man and thrilled to be able to include his presence in this children's chopper experience. "Right then, so loud the entire neighborhood could hear, the emcee blasted to the crowds that it was time to announce the "PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD".  Joey remained quiet and calm as she hoped with all her might that all the work she did to her bike would be well received.
